I want to do a memorial candle table but after asking Stephen once and getting the response I got I don't think we're going to do it :/ Update: 8/19 Stephen said he wanted to do it so we're doing it :)

After reading alot of different forums and having personal experience I don't think we are going to do favors. Its a waste of money, half of them will either be left or thrown away and I don't think people are going to be negative about not having favors.

We are using fake flowers in all arrangements and bouquets for 2 reasons. Its cheaper and I want to be able to keep my bouquet without having to have it freezed.

Dollar Tree is a GREAT store! I found our rose petals (300 count) for 1.00 among so many other things. They also do the sand ceremony which is cool, I thought.

We are going with plastic tableclothes instead of cloth tableclothes.Plastic plates & silverware. To save money & also less of a cleanupjob. Update 8/19 we're using white tablecloths instead of plastic. We're still doing plastic plates & silverware though.

Vista Print is by far the greatest place to get things like brochures for your OOT guests and so on.

We were going to do a letter box instead of a unity candle but then decided against it. who knows though,we may later decide to do it.

My best advice to any knottie that is crafty or is on a budget, use what you can twice.
For my boutineers I decided to buy a "bunch" of white, pink & yellow silk roses came as a dozen a bunch. I used what I needed of each color for the boutineers then I used to rest for other things. My toss bouquet is from the leftover pink roses & then I have yellow, pink & white roses in my bouquet as well.

Search & Search. We knew what we wanted and we didn't give up on it. I knew Stephen wanted the Alabama cake topper & I ALMOST gave up because I could never find the helmet. I had to go 3 hours to get it,but I got it and it saved us about 50 dollars and it means more to us because we both made it together.

Personalize what you can. Guestbook pen for example, we didn't like the plain jane ones so we made it our own.

Take advantage of free things, for example vista print & weddingchicks.com

One thing I noticed about TheKnot.com I put some things in my shopping bag didn't order them, a day or so later I got an email from them offering me 15% off if I would order within 5 days (saved money)

Keep an eye on Hobby Lobby & Michaels. They are always having sales :)

If you're not afraid of thrift stores go there you will be AMAZED of what you could find.

Youtube was my best friend in some of my projects I got to watch videos & learned alot about my talent & then some.

Do not overload yourself.I did this in the beginning and stressed myself & Stephen out I finally had to realize I was only one person and I couldn't do everything.

Don't try to please everyone. I tried this and it didn't work at all.

The knot has a wedding classifieds board...its a GodSend.

Browse the boards on theknot & look at others bio, you'll be amazed at what others are doing & it will give you inspiration I promise.
